Student Achievement and Assessments

Saints Felicitas and Perpetua Catholic School uses a variety of authentic assessments to evaluate student learning.  The school uses these assessments as a critical component of the learning process.  The results of all of our assessments are used to evaluate student progress and guide instructional practices.

One of the many tools the school uses to evaluate student progress and achievement is norm-referenced tests.   These tests give teachers information they need for curriculum planning and inform parents about their children’s academic development.  Students in first through eighth grade are assessed each October with the Iowa Test of Basic Skills (ITBS).   The ITBS is a standardized test of basic grade level academic skills.  The information below shows school-wide achievement in the areas of Reading, Language, and Mathematics.  The 5th stanine is considered “at grade-level” when comparing our students to other children.

Please contact the school if you have further questions regarding student achievement and assessments at Saints Felicitas and Perpetua Catholic School.
